The In-House Counsel Committee is dedicated to promoting career growth and development to in-house attorneys and providing access to legal education programs targeted for in-house counsel. The Committee also acts as a critical resource for APABA Silicon Valley members interested in pursuing careers in-house and in fostering connections with other in-house counsel in Silicon Valley.

Welcome to the APABA Silicon Valley In-House Committee! As part of a premier APA bar association located in the heart of the Silicon Valley, our in-house attorney membership has grown to over 300 members. The In-House Committee provides a unique opportunity for APA in-house attorneys to network with other in-house attorneys and private practitioners, while promoting career growth and development and access to legal education programs targeted for in-house counsel. The Committee also acts as a critical resource for APABA Silicon Valley members interested in pursuing careers in-house and in fostering connections with other in-house counsel in Silicon Valley.

CO-CHAIRS
Cloris Cui
Cloris works as a Senior IP Counsel for Futurewei Technologies, where she handles transactional IP matters, especially standard essential patent licensings. Additionally, she counsels businesses on open source licenses, IP policies in standard setting organizations, and supports IP litigations. She enjoys the interaction of business, technology, and law, and how deals are made by the synergy of the three.
Liem Do
Liem Do is Patent Counsel at Google, where he counsels the engineering team on various intellectual property matters including preparation/prosecution of U.S. and foreign patent applications, strategic portfolio management, landscaping, prior art searches, standards essential patents, and transactional matters. Prior to Google, Liem was a patent attorney at Qualcomm in San Diego, CA and an associate at Haynes & Boone LLP in Richardson, TX.
Eric Lin
Eric Lin is Senior Patent Counsel in the Personalized Healthcare and Informatics group at Genentech, where he advises the business on all intellectual property matters, from portfolio management to IP licenses to due diligence around collaborations. Prior to Genentech, Eric built his in-house practice at Immersion and at Molecular Devices, a Danaher company. He also spent many years learning at an IP boutique before making the move in-house.
