Ken Kumayama
Ken D. Kumayama is a Partner at Skadden, based in Palo Alto. He represents clients in a range of technology and commercial transactions relating to the ownership, protection and exploitation of IP. He also counsels clients on cybersecurity- and privacy-related matters, including with respect to the California Consumer Privacy Act, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, data rights, and artificial intelligence and machine learning. Ken is fluent in Japanese and worked for more than four years in Japan. The Daily Journal has recognized Mr. Kumayama several times as one of the leading technology lawyers in California, including as a 2023 Top Intellectual Property Lawyer, 2022 Top Cybersecurity Lawyer and previously as one of the state’s Top Artificial Intelligence Lawyers. He also was honored as a 2023 Technology MVP by Law360 and has been selected as one of Lawdragon’s 100 Leading AI & Legal Tech Advisors, in addition to being named to Chambers USA and The Best Lawyers in America.
Gauri Manglik
Gauri Manglik is the Deputy General Counsel of GoFundMe, where she leads all aspects of AI, privacy, and product counseling. She earned her law degree from the National Law School of India University and her LLM from UCLA's law school.
Sadia Mumtaz
Sadia Mumtaz is an Associate Senior Counsel at Adobe in the Bay Area focusing on commercial transactions across multiple industries including tech and healthcare. Her work also involves handling AI/ML and privacy issues in addition to process development and supporting integration of acquired company products. Prior to joining Adobe, Sadia worked at various tech companies including Oracle and ChargePoint.
Sadia serves as the VP and D&E Co-chair of the Regional Center of East Bay, California, a non-profit under the California Department of Developmental Services serving people with intellectual disabilities. She is also a mentor for TechWomen's Mentorship and Exchange Program for emergent STEM leaders from developing countries.
Jack Shaw
Jack is a Partner at Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch LLP. He focuses on intellectual property and commercial litigation, representing clients in industries including software, mobile app technologies, digital media & entertainment, machine learning, consumer electronics, semiconductors, telecommunications, mobile payment, internet, network, medical, and mechanical engineering. Along with patent litigation, his other IP experience includes copyright/DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act), trade dress, and trade secret matters. He has represented U.S. clients as well as clients headquartered in Asia and Europe. Jack’s commercial litigation experience includes unfair competition and breach of contract actions.
