APABA Silicon Valley expresses its profound dismay in the recent decision by the United States Supreme Court in 303 Creative LLC v. Elenis. This decision allows a website design business to refuse services to same-sex couples under the facade of First Amendment protection. APABA Silicon Valley firmly believes that the First Amendment should not provide a shield for discriminatory acts against our LGBTQ+ community.

APABA Silicon Valley is proud to announce our 2022 Scholarship Recipients. The purpose of our scholarships is to recognize law students who have demonstrated leadership and service to the Asian Pacific American community, who have overcome personal hardships or challenges, or shown excellence and achievement in law school. Importantly, our scholarships are designed to help these students give back to the AAPI community. We are thrilled to have seen past recipients devote their careers to that very purpose.

The Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Silicon Valley is proud to announce its 2022 Diversity Award recipients, who will be celebrated at APABA Silicon Valley’s 37th Annual Award Gala at Levi’s Stadium on Friday, September 16, 2022.

On May 12, 2022, the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Silicon Valley (“APABA Silicon Valley”) hosted a celebration reception for Judge Lucy H. Koh following her confirmation to the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Judge Koh is the first Korean-American woman to serve as a federal appellate judge. Judge Koh is a lifetime member of APABA Silicon Valley and previously held positions as a Board member and as a Co-Chair of our Civil Rights Committee.

The Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Silicon Valley congratulates Judge Lucy Haeran Koh for her confirmation to the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Judge Koh is the first Korean American woman to serve as a federal appellate judge, and the second AAPI woman from California to serve on the Ninth Circuit.
