From his modest roots as the child of immigrants growing up in a housing project in New York City's Chinatown, he graduated from two of America's top academic institutions--Harvard University and the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Judge Chew's dedication to the AAPI community and interest in the law started in high school when he began volunteering for the Asian American Legal Defense Fund (AALDEF). His history of service to the AAPI community continued throughout many years of volunteering for Asian Americans for Community Involvement (AACI), including serving on AACI's board from 2010-2018. APABA Silicon Valley is proud that Judge Chew has been a longtime member of our organization, and we are grateful for his years of service on a number of committees for our organization."
