This year, the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Silicon Valley (“APABA Silicon Valley”) is participating in #GivingTuesday, a day where charities, families, businesses community centers, and students around the world come together for one common purpose: to celebrate and encourage giving.

We invite all APABA Silicon Valley members of the greater Asian Pacific American (“APA”) community to donate on or before #GivingTuesday, November 29, 2016, to help us empower young APA attorneys in Silicon Valley and serve the greater APA community.

Formed over thirty years ago, APABA Silicon Valley is a forum for APA attorneys in the Silicon Valley to network, develop professional skills, participate in community service, take positions on issues affecting the APA community, and empower APAs in the Silicon Valley. APA attorneys in Silicon Valley play a critical role in enriching our legal and civic communities by practicing in every legal field – law firms of all sizes, large and small corporations, academia, government, courts, legislature, and public interest.

Each year, APABA Silicon Valley awards scholarships to law students throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. The purpose of our scholarships is to recognize law students who have demonstrated leadership and service to the APA community, who have overcome personal hardships or challenges, or shown excellence and achievement in law school. Importantly, our scholarships are designed to help these students give back to the APA community. We are thrilled to have seen past recipients devote their careers to that very purpose.

This year, APABA Silicon Valley launched a new core initiative: development of a program to support attorneys with a passion for serving those in need by providing a fellowship to empower them to launch a legal career doing public interest work in Silicon Valley.
