Please join the In-House Committee and Allen & Overy LLP for a presentation on Preventing Tech Fails Caused by Lack of Diversity. Lack of diversity in your work force puts your products at risk. Lisa Nguyen (Partner, Allen & Overy) and Michelle Zhang (Summer Associate, Allen & Overy) will discuss case studies examining how product team homogeneity led to technology failures, including airbag injury to women and children, pulse oximeters that fail to work with darker skin tones, and speech recognition software that do not recognize female speech patterns. We will look at studies that break down why diverse teams perform better, and discuss approaches to minimize the unconscious bias that leads to homogenous teams.
The event will be held in-person at Allen & Overy’s Palo Alto office. For those who are not able to join in-person, virtual meeting information will be provided before the event to attendees.
