Hosted by the In-House and Diversity & Inclusion Committees and generously sponsored by Latham & Watkins, this workshop will provide historical context for how Asians have been seen in the US, discuss common racial narratives placed on Asian Americans, and explore how the Asian American collective psyche and mental health have been impacted by racial trauma. We will discuss tangible action items and strategies for protecting mental health while engaging in advocacy and allyship.
The workshop will be led by Dr. Jenny Wang, a Taiwanese American licensed psychologist and national speaker on the intersections of Asian American identity, mental health and racial trauma. She is the founder of the Instagram community @asiansformentalhealth that promotes awareness regarding Asian American mental health needs and unique immigrant experiences.
