Join the Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Committee for a panel discussion on the California Privacy Rights Act. The California Privacy Rights Act (“CPRA”), passed in 2020, created the several new rights for consumers. Along with the right to opt-out of the selling of consumer information, the CPRA gives consumers the right to opt-out of the sharing of their information. The passing of the CPRA also renewed the conversation about whether data ownership is a solution to privacy concerns. This panel will discuss emerging opt-out mechanisms and the data dividend.
Panelists:
Enoch Liang – CEO, Data Dividend Project
David Straite – Partner, Kaplan Fox & Kilsheimer LLP
Ashkan Soltani – Co-author of the CCPA and CPRA, former FTC Chief Technologist, and independent researcher
